Codeblack Films has released a slew of images to Julia Hart’s supernatural drama “Fast Color” starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Lorraine Toussaint (“Orange is the New Black”), Saniyya Sidney (“The Passage”) Christopher Denham, and David Strathairn. It will release on March 29 in partnership with AMC Independent.
Hunted by mysterious forces, a young woman (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) with supernatural abilities must go on the run when her powers are discovered. With nowhere else to go, she flees back to her family and the farmhouse she abandoned long ago. There, while being pursued by the local Sheriff (David Strathairn), she begins to mend the broken relationships with her mother (Lorraine Toussaint) and daughter (Saniyya Sidney) and learns that the power she needed was inside her all along.
The film, which premiered in March at SXSW, is produced and written by Oscar nominee Jordan Horowitz (“La La Land”) and Hart under their Original Headquarters label. Mickey Liddell and Pete Shilaimon also serve as producers and fully financed the film under their LD Entertainment banner.
