Official Trailer To Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite

NEON has released the official trailer to Bong Joon Ho’s upcoming pitch-black modern fairytale feature, Parasite. The film won the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, and reviews paint it as one of the best films of the year.

Song Kang-Ho, Lee Sun-Kyun, Cho Yeo-Jeong, Choi Woo-Shik, and Park So-Dam co-star in the film which NEON will release in the United States on October 11th.

Parasite is a peculiar tale about two families who are worlds apart yet somewhat alike, portraying a striking reality of the world we live in.

Meet the Park Family: the picture of aspirational wealth. And the Kim Family, rich in street smarts but not much else. Be it chance or fate, these two houses are brought together and the Kims sense a golden opportunity.

Masterminded by college-aged Ki-woo, the Kim children expediently install themselves as tutor and art therapist, to the Parks. Soon, a symbiotic relationship forms between the two families. The Kims provide “indispensable” luxury services while the Parks obliviously bankroll their entire household. When a parasitic interloper threatens the Kims’ newfound comfort, a savage, underhanded battle for dominance breaks out, threatening to destroy the fragile ecosystem between the Kims and the Parks.

After his 2003 debut Memories of Murder, Bong made a real splash with American audiences with his 2007 monster movie The Host and 2010’s horror-adjacent Mother. More recently, he directed the big-budget sci-fi film Snowpiercer, as well as the family film Okja for Netflix. Parasite marks the filmmaker’s triumphant return to theaters.
