The third installments script is written by Keenan Coogler, brother of original Creed director, Ryan Coogler, along with Zach Baylin. The two wrote the script based on an outline by Ryan. The film comes from production studio Chartoff-Winkler with Irwin Winkler, Charles Winkler, William Chartoff, David Winkler, Jonathan Glickman producing. Also producing, on behalf of Proximity Media, will be Jordan and Ryan Coogler. Adam Rosenberg, Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler are executive producing.

Although news to most, Jordan becoming director of the latest film in the Creed franchise has been in the cards for some time now. Original Rocky films and Creed spinoffs producer, Irwin Winkler, revealed Jordan would be directing the third film some time ago. The latest spoil of Jordan directing Creed III came from his onscreen love interest, Tessa Thompson, in a recent interview.

Creed III will mark Jordan’s directorial debut and it can be said that he has been taking notes from directors he’s worked with like Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Black Panther) and Denzel Washington, who is directing Jordan in Journal For Jordan. Jordan will be starring in the true story about 1st Sgt. Charles Monroe King, who was killed in action in Baghdad, and the journal he wrote for his son on how to live a good life despite not having his father to guide him. That film comes from Sony Pictures and is currently shooting in New York.

Jordan has a lot in the works, not proving to slow down anytime soon. On the acting side, Jordan has a new mega movie/TV/multi-platform franchise deal at Amazon, with the adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse, set for an April 30 release.
