Last Chance U is also giving one lucky fan the chance to win their own exclusive pair of these Curry 8s, designed by Kickstradomis. The Last Chance ShUs sweepstakes will go live on March 11th at tip off during the Warriors x Clippers Game. Follow @LastChanceU for details on how to enter!

“Working on this pair for Stephen and Last Chance U was an incredible experience. I was able to integrate the colors, mascot and nods to Los Angeles, which is where I grew up. Partnering with Stephen, who wasn’t the most highly recruited prospect coming out of high school, made sense. This was a special way to commemorate ELAC, Last Chance U, and honor those who have the odds stacked against them but keep fighting.” -Kickstradomis
SHOE DESIGN & INSPIRATION:
- Outside Panel: The semicircle design is meant to both look like a basketball and represent East LA with the lines/design of the Whittier Blvd sign, one of the best known East LA landmarks.
- Inside Panel: “Every Shot Counts” is emblematic of Last Chance U and the importance of every shot and every moment for JUCO players in their journey to make it to D1. The graffiti style font is a nod to Los Angeles.
- Back Panel: The husky eye not only references the ELAC mascot, but highlights the hunger and underdog mentality of JUCO players working nonstop to make it to the next level.
- The Sole: The speckles on the sole represent grit which is a key theme of the series and the drip from the midsole into the bottom of the shoe is a nod to the sweat and work that goes into every game.
- Additional creative elements: The green color palette is a nod to ELAC’s colors, but the neon tone and gold accents are a reference to LA’s bright lights. “Last Chance” appears on the inside sole of the shoe, to represent the series but also that the players are standing on their last chance each time they walk onto the court.
