Christopher ‘Play’ Martin Joins Will Packer’s BET+ Series ‘Bigger’

Christopher ‘Play’ Martin of hip-hop/comedy duo Kid ‘n Play will be joining Will Packer’s Bet+ series Bigger. Martin has been cast in a recurring role on the series’ second season. Christopher ‘Play’ Martin Joins Will Packer’s BET+ Series ‘Bigger’

Martin will play the handsome, intimidating, sweet and rough Julius. At first, he’s the strange voice Deon (Chase Anthony) hears when he calls his mother. However, when Deon’s mother makes a surprise visit, Deon is even more shocked to find she has brought her new fiancé, Julius, along. Although Julius seems cool enough, there isn’t anything redeeming about Julius for Deon to stomach, let alone marry his mother. Julius tries hard to bond with Deon, his true love’s son, to no avail.  Martin joins series stars Tanisha Long (Layne Roberts) , Angell Conwell (Veronica Yates), Rasheda Crockett (Tracey Davis), Chase Anthony (Deon Lewis), and Tristen Winger (Vince Carpenter). 

Bigger is a scripted comedy that takes place in the East Atlanta neighborhood, Little Five Points. The 30-minute, ten-episode series follows a single-black-woman who is dealing with the threat of marriage to a boring-in-bed boyfriend and the sudden, random death of a college acquaintance. The tragedy drives her ambitious group of friends to take a deeper look at their stagnant lives, asking themselves – is there something bigger and better in life.  The series was created by Felischa Marye with executive producers Will Packer and Devon Shepard who also serves as the showrunner. Will Packer’s banner, Will Packer Media, executive produces. The full first season of Bigger is currently available to stream on BET+.

Christopher ‘Play’ Martin enjoyed much success as apart of the 90’s rap duo Kid ‘n Play. The duo released three albums together and most famously starred in the classic hip-hop comedy films;  House Party, House Party 2, Class Act, House Party 3, and House Party: Tonight’s the Night.
