Idris Elba is in talks to reunite with director Guy Ritchie in Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur, Warner Bros.’ new version on the English myth, states The Hollywood Reporter.
Written by Joby Harold, the story is a re-imagining of King Arthur and his legendary knights of the kingdom of Camelot. Elba is slated to play Bedivere, Arthur’s father’s right-hand man, who is will teach Arthur how to lead an army.
Producing the movie are Lionel Wigram, Akiva Goldsman, Tory Tunnell and Harold.
Elba and Ritchie worked together on the 2008 Warner Bros. crime movie RocknRolla.
Elba has a lot on his place, including voicing the character of Shere Khan in Disney’s The Jungle Book, starring in Cary Fukunaga’s ‘Beasts Of No Nation,’ and attached to star in the thriller Bastille Day. He’s also the star of BBC’s acclaimed Luther series, which he recently received an Emmy nomination for its latest season.
