AMC Stubs Update #4

AMC Stubs (#AMCStubs) Challenge Week 3by Wilson Morales

May 4, 2011

In this last week of the AMC Search for Stubs contest, I must say that it’s been a fun ride traveling over New York and New Jersey and visiting many different theaters within the AMC family.
While it’s been somewhat grueling catching a couple of repeats, one gets a better perspective on some films upon a second or third viewing. If the IMAX film, ‘Born to be Wild’ is still in your area, I recommend that you go see it. It’s an amazing film. and to hear Morgan Freeman’s voice as the narrator, it’s a treat.
Now, with just a few days before this contest ends, it’s not too late to get me over the top or at least put me in the running to make a close race.

With my competitors and fellow movie “bloggers” (Mike Eisenberg of Screenrant, myself, and Steve ‘Frosty’ Weintraub of Collider) located in other states, we each have to travel to areas we’ve never gone to in order to rack up points in our AMC Search For Stubs contest.

Bringing friends to the movies where I cover the tab has made me the mayor in some circles!

With this promotion about the new AMC Stubs Card, if you have the card, you can vote for me. The one with the most votes get a huge number of points and it will definitely help one of us win a 5-Year Movie Pass to AMC Theatres!.

Here’s what you need to know about the Stubs programs at AMC: if you live near an AMC theater you want to get the card. What it does is collect every dollar you spend (either on concessions or tickets) and when you’ve spent $100, you get $10 in rewards back. It’s basically like a 10% off card. In addition, you get free upgrades. So if you buy a small drink, with the card, they give you a medium. Same for popcorn.

Also, if you’re someone that likes buying tickets online, if you use a Stubs card, you don’t pay online ticketing fees at either MovieTickets.com or Fandango.

Over the next two weeks, I’ll post a few updates about how things have been going on Blackfilm.com. But for more real time updates, follow me on Twitter and #AMCStubs.

To follow up on how I’m doing in the contest, you can check for up-to-date results on Facebook.

Here’s the form to fill in.  You have to have a Stubs Card.  The card costs $12, but that money is applied to the $100 you need for a reward. This is a good bargain if you are an avid moviegoer like myself.
