
The two-part HBO Sports documentary WHAT’S MY NAME | MUHAMMAD ALI, chronicling the extraordinary life of one of the 20th century’s most iconic figures, debuts tonight TUESDAY, MAY 14 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, with both chapters airing back-to-back in a special television event.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, and executive produced by LeBron James and Maverick Carter, the doc had its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival a few weeks ago.

Exploring Ali’s challenges, confrontations, comebacks and triumphs through recordings of his own voice, the film paints an intimate portrait of one of 20th century’s most iconic figures and relies on Ali himself to guide viewers through his remarkable journey. Directed and executive produced by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, Southpaw, The Magnificent Seven, The Equalizer franchise) and executive produced by LeBron James and Maverick Carter, this is SpringHill Entertainment’s first feature-length HBO production.

This past weekend, HBO launched a weekend-long immersive NYC experience for the upcoming documentary
Inside the event, the experience showcased different aspects of Muhammad Ali’s life covered in the film using eye-catching imagery, artwork, quotes, and directional speakers to target audio in the space, which was designed to provide immersive experiences and photo moments. The two-day pop-up opening with a private event on Friday May 10th before opening to the public on Saturday May 11th and Sunday May 12th. The experience provided a truly immersive and photogenic event allowing fans to celebrate the life of Muhammad Ali ahead of the documentary’s premiere.

The one-of-a-kind event converted the 45 Grand event space, into three dedicated spaces that highlighted different aspects of Muhammed Ali’s life including:
The Athlete – Detailing Ali’s journey to become the greatest boxer of all-time through his many entertaining knockouts against formidable contenders.
The Activist – Showcasing the sheer magnitude and cultural impact of the work Ali did outside the ring.
The Orator – Visual and auditory displays of Ali’s profound and powerful words and his supreme confidence in expressing his views.
