Actress Aunjanue Ellis, who next stars in Lifetime’s Abducted: The Story of Carlina White, has booked a co-starring role in AMC’s untitled Richard LaGravenese and Tony Goldwyn drama.

The untitled drama is described as a legal thriller with major political, personal and ethical stakes and revolves around a district attorney who uncovers new evidence that prompts the reinvestigation of a sensational murder case.

Prime Suspect’s Damon Gupton stars as Adam, the Philadelphia district attorney who uncovers new evidence that kicks off the reinvestigation. Ellis will play Adam’s wife, Billie Powell, a successful partner in a private-equity firm who’s described as being typically the smartest person in the world.

Marin Ireland and Paul Schneider co-star in the drama. LaGravenese (The Fisher King) will write and executive produce alongside Goldwyn (Scandal), who will direct. Andrew Sugerman (Conviction) will co-exec produce.

Ellis, whose previous TV credits include Missing and The Mentalist, played a maid arrested for stealing in the best picture Oscar nominated feature The Help.
