Tonight at 10:30pm is the Turner Network’s second season premiere of Black Dynamite on Adult Swim.
Black Dynamite, the widely loved animated television series based on the 2009 film Black Dynamite, premiered on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim with viewership records.
Under the direction of Carl Jones (Boondocks), the series features the voice talent of original cast members Michael Jai White (Black Dynamite), Tommy Davidson (Cream Corn), Kym Whitley (Honeybee), and Byron Minns (Bullhorn). Like the movie, the show is predominately a parody of and tribute to blaxploitation cinema.
Black Dynamite is a 1970s renaissance man with a kung-fu grip. A lover and a fighter who is not afraid to leap before he looks. His sidekick extraordinaire is Bullhorn, the brains and cunning that complements Black Dynamite’s hard-hittin’, bone-crushin’ style. Providing comic relief on the mean streets is Cream Corn and classing up the place is the gorgeous Honey Bee.
The show continues the story of Black Dynamite and his crew of Bullhorn, Cream Corn, and Honey Bee as they engage in dangerous and over-the-top misadventures sometimes involving African American stars such as Michael Jackson, O.J. Simpson, Richard Pryor, MR. T and other major celebrities Elvis Presley and President Richard Nixon.
This season will feature guest appearances by Bob Marley, Mister Rogers, Bill Cosby, Richard Nixon, Jaws, Arnold and Willis from “Different Strokes,” and many more!
