Boris Kodjoe to Film ‘Looking for Jimmy Lee’ With Wife Nicole Ari Parkerby Wilson Morales

Now that his TV series ‘Undercovers’ has been canceled, Boris Kodjoe has plenty of time to decide what to do to next, and one project he’d like to do is a film with his wife, actress Nicole Ari Parker.
In speaking to Vibe magazine regarding life after the TV show, Kodjoe was asked whether he would do another project with his wife. They worked on the TV sitcom ‘Second Time Around’ a few years back.
“I love working with Nicole; she’s such a terrific actress. She’s so fun, so good, and she elevates my game. We’re actually trying to do an indie romantic comedy together called ‘Looking for Jimmy Lee.”
Written by Rhonda Baraka, ‘Looking for Jimmy Lee’ is a romantic comedy with a charming blend of classic romance and contemporary humor. It is refreshing, heartwarming, intelligent and uproariously funny. The story takes us into the lives of two total opposites — Dr. Cameron Shaw, a free-spirited love therapist and radio personality, and Reid Abbott, a stuffed-shirt financial whiz.
The city of Atlanta and its people provide the perfect backdrop for the story as Cameron’s obsession with a lonely fan named Jimmy Lee (who, unbeknown to her, is actually her new business manager Reid), turns into a massive marketing campaign that draws the attention of people from all over the city. Things get really complicated when Reid and Cameron fall in love.
Married since 2005, Kodjoe and Parker met as co-stars on Showtime’s television series ‘Soul Food,’ which aired from 2000 to 2004, and also appeared in the 2002 film ‘Brown Sugar’ with Taye Diggs and Sanaa Lathan. When ‘Soul Food’ finished its run, the couple starred as newlyweds in the 2004 UPN series ‘Second Time Around.’ Due to low ratings, the show was canceled after 13 episodes.
Kodjoe’s new series, ‘Undercovers,’ which ran on NBC and co-starred actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw, was canceled in 2010 after low ratings. Only 11 of 13 episodes were aired. Kodjoe’s last film was ‘The Confidant,’ which co-starred actress and former Miss USA Kenya Moore.
Parker has a few upcoming films that have been making the rounds at film festivals: ‘Pastor Brown’ co-stars Salli Richardson, Michael Beach, Monica, and Keith David, while the romantic comedy ’35 and Ticking’ features Meagan Good, Kevin Hart, and Tamala Jones.
The couple are raising their two kids, daughter Sophie Tei-Naaki Lee and son Nicolas Neruda.
