Warner Bros. Pictures has released a featurette on writer/director Brian Helgeland‘s 42, starring Harrison Ford, Chadwick Boseman, Nicole Beharie, Christopher Meloni, Ryan Merriman, Brad Beyer, Toby Huss and T.R. Knight.
Chadwick Boseman plays the famed second baseman for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Robinson was the heroic African American who was the first man to break the color line in the big leagues. Harrison Ford plays team general manager Branch Rickey, the MLB executive who first signed baseball great Jackie Robinson to the minors and then helped to bring him up to the show. The film also stars Nicole Beharie (“Shame”) as Rachel Isum, who would become Robinson’s wife.
The featurette also has interviews with Hall of Famer Hank Aaron and Rachel Robinson.
