This Transparent Filmworks new web series, “Almost Home,” was created and written by actress Reagan Gomez and is being directed by Matthew A. Cherry, and co-executive produced by Al Thompson.

Reagan is currently the voice of “Roberta” on the network’s hit animated series “The Cleveland Show.”

Almost Home also stars Wesley Jonathan, Denyce Lawton, Jackie Long, DeJuan Turrentine, Kieasha “Queen” Turrentine, Ryan Hahn, and Reagan’s husband, record producer DeWayne Turrentine Jr.

After the death of their mother, Lisa (Reagan Gomez) and DeJuan (DeJuan Turrentine) decide to live out her dream and move to sunny, California. Lisa quickly finds a job while DeJuan gives up engineering school to become a singer. All seems well, but old troubles find them…mainly, Lisa’s abusive fiancé. Lisa learns to embrace her stronger self, while DeJuan learns a little responsibility isn’t such a bad thing.

This marks the fourth time that Reagan and Wesley have worked together. They both starred in the comedy-drama ‘Dysfunctional Friends’ and in David E. Talbert’s play, ‘What Goes Around Comes Around.’ Wesley also did an episode of ‘The Parent ‘Hood’ years ago.

Matthew A. Cherry is the director of the upcoming film, ‘The Last Fall’ with Lance Gross and Nicole Beharie and directed the short film, ‘This Time,’ which starred Gomez-Preston and Terri Vaughn.
