Djimon Hounsou and Norman ReedusTwo-time Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou (Gladiator, Blood Diamond, Baggage Claim, Guardians of the Galaxy, Fast & Furious 7), along with Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus, are set to do the sci-fi film ‘Air.’

The film will be produced by Comics publishing imprint Skybound Entertainment, which was founded by “The Walking Dead’s” Robert Kirkman. The other producers include David Alpert, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Chris Ferguson.

The script is by Christian Cantamessa and Chris Pasetto, with Cantamessa making his directing debut.

skyboundairThe story is set in an underground cryogenic facility after a nuclear fallout renders the atmosphere unbreathable. Air centers on its two custodial workers (Reedus, Hounsou), who take care of the cryogenically sleeping personnel that are to re-establish society, but they struggle to preserve their own sanity and lives while maintaining the extremely fragile environment of the last livable place on earth.

Hounsou, who was recently seen opposite Paula Patton in the romantic comedy ‘Baggage Claim,’ will next be seen as Korath the Pursuer in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. He will also voice the character of Drago Bludvist in How To Train Your Dragon 2.
