Blackfilm.com has been provided with an exclusive featurette to the action/thriller film Black and Blue starring Naomie Harris, Tyrese Gibson, Mike Colter, Frank Grillo, Reid Scott, Beau Knapp, and Nafessa Williams.
Directed by Deon Taylor (The Intruder), the film will become available on Digital 12/31 and on Blu-ray and DVD 1/21 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
Black and Blue follows rookie cop Alicia West (Harris) in New Orleans who accidentally stumbles on some fellow officers murdering a drug dealer, an incident captured by the body cam on her uniform. When they then fail to execute her she escapes and teams up with the one person from her community who is willing to help her (Tyrese Gibson) as she tries to escape both the criminals out for revenge and the police who are desperate to destroy the incriminating footage.
Peter A. Dowling wrote the screenplay. Sean Sorensen produced it for Royal Viking Entertainment alongside Hidden Empire Film Group, Taylor’s own production company with partners Roxanne Avent and Robert F. Smith. Avent also serves as executive producer.
