Paramount Pictures has provide Blackfilm.com with an exclusive look at Courtney B. Vance And Dayo Okeniyi, who play father and son Miles and Danny Dyson respectively, in Terminator Genisys.
Directed by Alan Taylor from a screenplay by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier, Terminator Genisys stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Byung Hun Lee and Matt Smith.
When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…
With the exception of one TV spot that briefly showed Okeniyi, not much has been made on the characters that he and Vance are playing. The only reference anyone has to go with is the role in which Scandal’s Joe Morton originally played Miles in Terminator 2: Judgement Day
According to Wikipedia, “Doctor Miles Bennett Dyson was the original inventor of the neural-net processor which would lead to the development of Skynet, a computer A.I. intended to control electronically linked weapons and defend the United States, but which would later seize control of the world and launch a global war of extermination against humanity. He was the man most directly responsible for Judgment Day, although his work was clearly not intended to bring about that, and Dyson was visibly distraught and disgusted to learn of the Rise of the Machines.
Okeniyi, who played Thresh in The Hunger Games, was featured opposite Miles Teller in ‘The Spectacular Now,’ and with Ben Affleck in ‘Runner Runner.’ He was last seen opposite Alex Pettyfer in ‘Endless Love.’
A veteran of many films and TV series, including ‘The Hunt for Red October,’ ‘The Preacher’s Wife,’ NBC’s ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent,’ TNT”s ‘The Closer,’ and Showtime’s ‘Masters of Sex,’ Vance will next be seen playing famed attorney Johnnie Cochran in FX’s new TV series, ‘American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson.’
Terminator Genisys that will hit theaters on July 1, 2015.
