Blackfilm.com has learned that Being Mary Jane’s Stephen Bishop and Khalil Kane have been added to the cast of TV One’s Girlfriends’ Getaway 2, which will premiere at the American Black Film Festival in New York city this summer.

Girlfriends’ Getaway 2 will air on TV One on August 29.

Executive produced and directed by Roger Bobb, the sequel brings back the original cast Garcelle Beauvais (The Jamie Foxx Show), Terri J. Vaughn (The Steve Harvey Show), Malinda Willams (Soul Food) and Essence Atkins (Haunted House).

In the first film, the story centered on four friends (Vicky, Sophie, Lauren and Camille) who take a trip to the Caribbean to celebrate two of their friends’ birthdays. One thing leads to another and they get into a bit of trouble.

This time the girls travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico to help Vicki (Garcelle Beauvais) plan her wedding and of course mayhem ensues.

With Angi Bones serving as Producer, the film was written by Cas Sigers-Beedles, and is a co-production between Bobbcat Films.

Known for his role as David Paulk on BET’s Being Mary Jane, Bishop was recently seen opposite Regina Hall in Lifetime’s With This Ring and had a role in 2014’s Miss Meadows, which starred Katie Holmes. Khalil Kain has been in numerous films and TV shows over 20 years, but is best known for film debut in Ernest Dickerson’s Juice opposite Tupac and his role as Darnell Wilkes in the TV series Girlfriends. His last big film role was Tyler Perry’s For Colored Girls.

This has been a busy year for Bobb who has already released two shows so far “It’s A Mann’s World” (BET) and recently “Mann & Wife” (BounceTV) which premiered as the highest rated show in the history of the network and is the only new show this season besides Empire to increase it’s audience.
