What do Family Guy, The Simpsons, Central Park and Big Mouth have in common? Other than the obvious, the animated shows will no longer have white actors voicing some of their favorite animated characters of color.
Mike Henry, the voice behind Cleveland Brown on Family Guy, says he is ‘stepping down’ from the role.

Kristen Bell, in a post on her Instagram, announced she will no longer voice the role of Molly on the Apple TV+ animated series Central Park.
” . . . But after reflection, Kristen, along with the entire creative team, recognizes that the casting of the character of Molly is an opportunity to get representation right – to cast a Black or mixed race actress and give Molly a voice that resonates with all of the nuance and experiences of the character as we’ve drawn her . . ”

Other celebs speaking up through removing their voice include Jenny Slate who will no longer portray the character of Missy on the Netflix series Big Mouth and Hank Azaria who will not return as the voice of Apu on The Simpson.
