Directed by veteran actress Tasha Smith (Why Did I Get Married, Daddies Little Girls, Star, Power), “My Life” will bring to life Mary J. Blige’s iconic song in a new light in the episode featuring Byers as lead character “Edie.”

The title track from Mary’s second studio album, “My Life” was the last single released from the album in June of 1995. It samples heavily from Roy Ayers’ “Everybody Loves the Sunshine” and became a signature song for Blige, achieving great success at Urban radio. Thematically, the song explores attempts to both strive for better in life while also acknowledging and remaining true to emotions during a dark time.
