Tyler Perry has tapped Amy Smart, Cocoa Brown, Ryan Eggold, Terry Crews and Eddie Cibrian to round out the cast in his next movie “Single Mom’s Club,” to be distributed by Lionsgate.

Wendi McLendon-Covey, William Levy, and Zulay Henao had been previously announced as a star in the movie, which began shooting Monday at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta with Perry directing from his own script. Blackfilm.com also posted the news that Nia Long and her son Massai Jr. was also in the film.

Perry is producing the film with Ozzie Areu and Matt Moore through the Tyler Perry Studios banner. Lionsgate plans to release “Club” on Mother’s Day weekend on May 9, 2014.

Story follows a group of single mothers from different walks of life who are brought together by an incident at their children’s school. They bond and create a support group that helps them find comedy in the obstacles of life, as well as their inner strength to overcome their personal challenges.

Perry’s 14th film, “Madea’s Witness Protection,” grossed over $65 million for Lionsgate this summer. His next film “Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor,” opens March 29.
