According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson will be reprising their role in Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, the followup to the 2018 film. Director Christian Gudegast is also returning to helm the project. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson will also return, but in some sort of production capacity.
Den of Thieves marked the directorial debut of Gudegast, who helmed the film based on his original screenplay, which was written after a story he co-wrote with Paul Scheuring (Prison Break: The Final Break).

The film starred Butler, Jackson and Jackson, Jr., along with Pablo Schreiber, Evan Jones, Cooper Anderson, Maurice Compte, Kaiwai Lyman-Mersereau, Mo McRae, Meadow Williams and Brian Van Holt.
A Los Angeles crime saga in the vein of Heat, Den of Thieves followed the intersecting and often personally connected lives of an elite unit of the LA County Sheriff’s Dept. and the state’s most successful bank robbery crew as the outlaws plan a seemingly impossible heist on the Federal Reserve Bank of downtown Los Angeles.

In the sequel, Big Nick (Butler) is back on the hunt on the mean-streets of Europe closing in on Donnie (Jackson Jr.) who is embroiled in the dangerous world of diamond thieves and the infamous Panther mafia, as they plot a massive heist of the world’s biggest diamond exchange. Meadow Williams will also return as Holly in the film.
The sequel was first announced in February of last year, though the first Den of Thieves was financed via STX Films, eOne and Tucker Tooley Entertainment will fund its sequel.
The Den of Thieves sequel is expected to start filming later this year.
