The Hollywood Foreign Press has announced the nominees for the 78th annual Golden Globe awards. Netflix has once again reigned supreme, taking away the most nominations along with Amazon. Golden Globes 2021: The Black Nominees
Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and One Night in Miami are the films that helped the streamers lead at this year’s ceremony. Regina King is nominated for Best Director for her feature debut with One Night in Miami. Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman have secured nom’s for Best Performance by an Actress/Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
Due to the pandemic, the show will be aired in February instead of its normal January release. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey serve as the evenings hosts – hosting simultaneously from both New York and Los Angeles – a first for the awards show.
