Aviron Pictures has released an international poster to the action-fueled thriller ‘Kidnap,’ starring Academy Award winner Halle Berry as one mother’s heroic attempt to take back her son leads her to ask herself how far she will go to save her child.

The film will hit theaters on August 4.

The new company was started by David Dinerstein, who founded Paramount Classics and was the architect of Fox Searchlight. It will be the first film Aviron releases.

Kidnap was expected to hit theaters back in on March 10, and that was after it was bumped from its December 2, 2016 slot. Apparently, Relativity didn’t have enough capital to properly promote the film and was shopping the film around town to potential distributors.

Luis Prieto (Pusher) directed the film, based off Knate Gwaltney’s first screenplay.

A typical afternoon in the park turns into a nightmare for single mom Karla Dyson (Academy Award winner Halle Berry) when her son suddenly disappears. Without a cell phone and knowing she has no time to wait for police help, Karla jumps in her own car and sets off in pursuit of the kidnappers. A relentless, edge-of-your seat chase ensues, where Karla must risk everything to not lose sight of her son.

The cast also includes Patrick Kearns, Lew Temple, Dana Gourrier, Christopher Berry, Robert Walker Branchaud, Erica Curtis, Ritchie Montgomery, Kurt Krause, and Michael D. Anglin.

Di Bonaventure Pictures’ Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Erik Howsam produced the film. Executive producers are Lotus Entertainment’s Bill Johnson, Jim Seibel, D.J. Gugenheim and Ara Keshishian alongside Gold Star’s Joey Tufaro and Colin Bates, Knate Gwaltney, Halle Berry and her producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas through their 606 Films production banner.
