Having overcome the demons of his past, Malcolm (Marlon Wayans) is ready to start over with his new girlfriend Megan (Jaime Pressly) and her two adorable kids, Wyatt (Steele Stebbins) and Becky (Ashley Rickards). When their house is plagued by a rash of bizarre paranormal events, Malcolm turns for help to his buddy Miguel (Gabriel Iglesias) and exorcist Father Williams (Cedric the Entertainer) in an attempt to drive the evil spirits from his home. But it turns out it’s not just the house that’s haunted…
Blackfilm.com recently spoke with Actor/Co-Writer/Producer Marlon Wayans about the Blu-ray release and fun times he had making the film.
What were some of the funniest moments for you when you were shooting the film?
MW: The most fun part was getting to work with other great comedians like Cedric the Entertainer and Affion Crockett. The cast was so funny and we improvised a lot. When you can trust your cast, you can improvise a lot and that’s what we did. With other films, so much is scripted and with this, I encouraged everyone to be a writer.
Is there a possibility that we will see a third film?
MW: It’s a possibility, so we’ll see. I’m not against it. I have other ideas that me and Rick have talked about.
What do you have coming up next?
MW: I’m working on my show, Funniest Wins, which is on TBS every Friday night. It’s a reality competition where it’s about who’s the funniest all-around comedian. It’s not just standup. Someone can do sketch, digital shorts and characters and a little bit of everything.
Between doing the TV show, films and other projects, do you find it challenging doing too much?
MW: It’s not really a challenge when you love what you do. You get up everyday and you just work. You don’t think about it. I love what I do and that’s the greatest gift in the world.
When you look at Affion’s character, was there a thought of doing a spinoff movie?
MW: We talked about it. We definitely gave it some thought.
What’s a good reason for those to see this film as well as the first one?
MW: It’s outlandishly funny and equally different. It’s not just a parody but a funny horror comedy. Whether you like or hate horror, this is a movie that you will enjoy. It has some relationship stiff in it and I think it’s a fun journey.
