MUBI, the global film streaming platform, is celebrating Black History Month with the new series Cut to Black. The celebratory film lineup looks to the past, reflects on the present, and gestures to the bright future of Black cinema with, featuring an eclectic range of films showcasing Black artistry from both sides of the camera.
Spotlighting works by filmmakers like Oscar Micheaux, Garrett Bradley, Janicza Bravo, and many more, over the next month this program will also add intimate avant-garde shorts from queer artist Edward Owens, a trilogy from Ghanaian-American filmmaker Akosua Adoma Owusu, and Raoul Peck’s award-winning portrait of James Baldwin, I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO.
