
Picturehouse Entertainment has release the a new UK trailer and poster for director Shola Amoo’s follow-up to A Moving Image, the stunning drama The Last Tree.
Starring Sam Adewumni, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Denise Black, Tai Golding, Nicholas Pinnock, Ruthxjiah Bellenea, Demmy Ladipo, Rasaq Kukoyi, & Tuwaine Barrett, the film was pushed back and will now be released in UK cinemas across UK & Ireland on September 27, 2019.

The Last Tree is the semi-autobiographical story of Femi (as a child played by newcomer Tai Golding), a British boy of Nigerian heritage who, after being fostered in rural Lincolnshire, moves to inner-city London to live with his birth mother. In his teens, Femi (Sam Adewunmi) is struggling with the culture and values of his new environment. Femi must decide which path to adulthood he wants to take, and what it means to be a young black man in London during the early 00s.
Shola’s debut feature was a multimedia Film called A Moving Image. It had its World Premiere in competition at The LA Film Festival 2016 and received The Special Recognition Award at The Blackstar Film Festival in Philadelphia. It had its European Premiere at The BFI London Film Festival 2016 and was released theatrically in the UK in 2017 through Verve Pictures.
