Columbia Pictures have released a new trailer for Sicario: Day of the Soldado, starring Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro.
Returning to reprise their roles from Denis Villeneuve’s 2015 film Sicario are Benicio Del Toro as Alejandro Gillick and Josh Brolin as CIA Agent Matt Graver. In the drug war, there are no rules – and as the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border, federal agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) calls on the mysterious Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro), whose family was murdered by a cartel kingpin, to escalate the war in nefarious ways. Alejandro kidnaps the kingpin’s daughter to inflame the conflict – but when the girl is seen as collateral damage, her fate will come between the two men as they question everything they are fighting for.

Also starring in Soldado are Matthew Modine (Stranger Things, Full Metal Jacket), Catherine Keener (Get Out, The 40 Year Old Virgin), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Magnificent Seven, Murder on the Orient Express) and Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice, Fargo).
Italian director Stefano Sollima (Gomorra, A.C.A.B.) directs the film, which once again was written by screenwriter Taylor Sheridan (Wind River).
Sicario: Day of the Soldado will hit theaters on June 29, 2018
