Now playing on Netflix is the action thriller “Point Blank,” starring Anthony Mackie and Frank Grillo.
A remake of Fred Cavaye’s 2010 French crime drama feature, the story centers on an emergency room nurse, Paul (Mackie), who saves the life of murder suspect Abe (Grillo). However, Paul’s pregnant wife (Parris) is kidnapped and in order to secure her release, he is ordered to help the murder suspect escape. The unlikely pair must now face off with rival gangsters and corrupt cops while trying to beat the clock to save Paul’s family.
Teyonah Parris, Christian Cooke, Marcia Gay Harden, Boris McGiver, and Markice Moore co-star in the film.
Joe Lynch directed the movie from a script by Adam G. Simon. Joe Carnahan and Grillo are producing via their War Party banner, while Johanna Byer is producing for Gaumont. Gaumont’s Sidonie Dumas, Christophe Riandee and Gene Stein are exec producing.
