FX has released some photos to American Horror Story: Freak Show, featuring Angela Bassett, Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy and Kathy Bates.
It’s upcoming fourth season is set to premiere on October 8, 2014.
American Horror Story: Freak Show begins its tale in the quiet, sleepy hamlet of Jupiter, Florida. The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike.
“Freak Show” finds Lange playing a German ex-pat who is managing one of the last freak shows in the USA. Her group of freak show performers include Angela Bassett as a three-breasted woman along with Kathy Bates’ bearded lady, Sarah Paulson’s conjoined twins, Peters, Conroy, and John Carroll Lynch as the villain, Twisty the clown killer – all acts whom Lange’s character has rescued, and who will do anything to make sure that their business sticks around.
Newcomers include Wes Bentley and Michael Chiklis, playing a strongman named Wendell del Tolito who’s married to Bassett’s character, Desiree Dupre.
Patti LaBelle also joins the cast, playing the mother of Queenie, Gabourey Sidibe’s character. Her character is described as “a local townsperson who begins to unravel the murderous secrets of Twisty the clown killer.”
