Last night, Blackfilm.com attended the premiere for the second season of Starz’s Power, which was held at the Best Buy Theater in NYC.
In attendance were the cast and creators of the series, including show creator Courtney Kemp Agboh and executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Omari Hardwick, Naturi Naughton, Lela Loren, Joseph Sikora, Andy Bean, Sinqua Walls, Adam Huss, Luis Antonio Ramos, La La Anthony, J.R. Ramirez, Shane Johnson, Rotimi Akinosho, David Fumero and Victor Garber.
Following the premiere of the first episode, the audience were treated to a live performance by 50 Cent and his G-Unit crew (Tony Yayo, Jeremih, Kidd Kidd, and Lloyd Banks), along with singers Joe, Elle Varner and Machine Gun Kelly.
The first of ten hour-long episodes returns on Saturday, June 6th at 9pm ET/PT.
James “Ghost” St. Patrick is doubling down on his drug business to save his nightclub and dream of a legitimate future. Ghost’s work troubles pale in comparison to juggling his relationship with his wife, Tasha, and his first love Angela, who’s also an Assistant US Attorney investigating his drug organization. Ghost is set further back from his dream by his business partner, Tommy, who loves the drug game, and his former mentor, Kanan, fresh out of jail, and looking for revenge. Season two has Ghost in a race against himself: Can he get out of the drug game alive before Angela discovers who he is?
Naughton plays Tasha St. Patrick, wife, confidant and willing accomplice to James; Lela Loren as Angela Valdes, an old flame of James’s who unexpectedly reenters his life; and Joseph Sikora, who plays Tommy Egan, Ghost’s childhood best friend and business partner.
Rounding out the cast are Andy Bean as ‘Greg’, Sinqua Walls as ‘Shawn’, Adam Huss as ‘Kantos’, Luis Antonio Ramos as ‘Ruiz’, Lucy Walters as ‘Holly’, La La Anthony as ‘LaKeisha’, and J.R. Ramirez as ‘Julio.’
Joining the cast this season are Victor Garber as “Simon Stern,” Jerry Ferrara as “Joe Proctor,” David Fumero as “Mike Sandoval” and Rotimi Akinosho as “Dre.”
