WGN America has released some photos and a clip to episode 9 to Season 2 of its hit series “Underground”  which will air on May 3, 2017 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT

In the season two penultimate episode of WGN America’s heart-pounding, scripted series “Underground,” freedom is at stake and new alliances must be forged in a riveting test of personal will and character, in “Citizen”.  Written by Misha Green and Joe Pokaski and directed by Lawrence Trilling, Cato (Alano Miller) takes extreme measures to prove his loyalty to the unconvinced and impatient Patty Cannon (Sadie Stratton), while simultaneously feigning good intent at Georgia’s (Jasika Nicole) station.  Then, an unwelcome visitor of the past arrives and provokes Elizabeth (Jessica de Gouw), causing her to seek revenge on the man at her own peril.  Away from Georgia’s, Harriet (Aisha Hinds) travels off on a mission, and questions whether she is meant to be a leader in John Brown’s resistance.  Turbulence persists back in Georgia when Noah (Aldis Hodge), Rosalee (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), James (Maceo Smedley III), and Corra (Michelle Elaine) make it to a safe house, and members of the group are forced to flee to safer grounds. Meanwhile, Daniel’s (Bokeem Woodbine) situation grows increasingly dire when his family’s well-being is threatened, and he decides to take action by relying on the help and kindness of strangers.

The celebrated “Underground” cast includes: Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Rosalee, Aldis Hodge as Noah, Jessica de Gouw as Elizabeth Hawkes, Alano Miller as Cato, Christopher Meloni as August Pullman, Amirah Vann as Ernestine and Marc Blucas as John Hawkes. Season two newcomers include Aisha Hinds in the pioneering role of Harriet Tubman, as well as Jasika Nicole as Georgia, DeWanda Wise as Clara, Bokeem Woodbine as Daniel, Michael Trotter as Biographer, Jesse Luken as Smoke, Sadie Stratton as Patty Cannon and Robert Christopher Riley as Hicks.

From Sony Pictures Television, “Underground” is created and written by Misha Green (“Sons of Anarchy,” “Heroes”) and Joe Pokaski (“Heroes,” “Daredevil”), who serve as Executive Producers alongside Emmy-winning director Anthony Hemingway (“The People v. O.J. Simpson,” “Treme”); Academy Award-winning writer Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind, I Am Legend) of Weed Road Pictures; Tory Tunnell (King Arthur, Holy Rollers) and Joby Harold (King Arthur, Edge of Tomorrow) of Safehouse Pictures; John LegendMike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius of Get Lifted Film Co (La Land, Southside with You); and Mark Taylor (“MadTV”).
