The Post-It notes have been Tweeted! Bridgerton’s break out star, Regé-Jean Page is set to host Saturday Night Live this Saturday with a musical performance from Raggaetón artist Bad Bunny. 20 Regé-Jean Page to Host SNL Feb.
Page’s notoriety was set ablaze once the Shonda Rhimes produced show Bridgerton hit Netflix on Christmas Day 2020. The actor leads the Regency era themed romance, playing Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings. Page has received SAG Award and NAACP Image Award nominations for his work on the hit series. He was also featured alongside Tessa Thompson in the retro love story Sylvie’s Love on Amazon. The British-Zimbabwean actor first came onto the scene in 2018 on the History channel’s miniseries Roots, starring with Laurence Fisburne, Forest Whitaker, and Anika Noni Rose. The actor was also featured as a regular cast member on the ABC legal drama For the People.
The show marks Bad Bunny’s premier appearance on the 30 Rock stage, however, the rapper first appeared on the show alongside Kenan Thompson on a remote episode in April . The artist is most know for his cameo on the Cardi B. single “I Like It” and his single “Mia” featuring Canadian rapper Drake. His latest album, El Ultimo Tour del Mundo, debuted #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and he is currently nominated for two Grammy Awards.
Page’s episode comes on the heels of One Night in Miami director, Watchmen actress, and Emmy winner Regina King’s Valentine’s Day episode. The episode also marked King’s first time hosting the popular sketch comedy show and featured Nathaniel Rateliff as the musical guest. The show has featured some heavy hitters for its return to the stage with a live audience. The first episode of the year was hosted by The Office star John Krasinski, also making his debut on the coveted stage.
