VH1 renews ‘Single Ladies‘ For Second Seasonby Wilson Morales

VH1 has renewed its first hourlong scripted drama series ‘Single Ladies‘ for a a second season, Variety stated.
The show, which airs 9 p.m. Mondays, will begin production later this year, and new shows set to air in 2012.
“Single Ladies” debuted May 30, and will run through Aug. 8. It’s been averaging a cumulative 2.8 million viewers — as well as a strong 18-34 female demo — combining ratings from the original episode and repeat telecast on that same night.
The show, which was created and written by Stacy A. Littlejohn and executive produced by Queen Latifah‘s Flavor Unit Entertainment, looks at three Atlanta-based best friends (played by Stacey Dash, LisaRaye McCoy, and Charity Shea) who offer each other advice on love and relationships.
Lauren London, Eve, Common, TLC’s Chili, Lamman Rucker, Terrell Owens, Isaiah Washington, Darrin Dewitt Henson, and Kim Porter have made guest appearances on the show.
Jeff Olde, exec VP of original programming & production for VH1, says the shows calling card is an “honest, modern take on love, female friendship and dating.”
