Fox Searchlight Pictures has debuted the teaser trailer for Lucy in the Sky, directed by Noah Hawley (Legion, Fargo) and starring Natalie Portman, Jon Hamm, Dan Stevens, Zazie Beetz, Pearl Amanda Dickson, and Ellen Burstyn.
In Lucy in the Sky, Natalie Portman plays astronaut Lucy Cola, who returns to Earth after a transcendent experience during a mission to space – and begins to lose touch with reality in a world that now seems too small.
The film is loosely inspired by the real life story surrounding astronaut Lisa Nowak’s affair with fellow astronaut Bill Oefelein — including the attempted murder and kidnapping of Colleen Shipman, whom Nowak considered to be a romantic rival. Beetz will portray Erin Eccles, assumed to be the character based on Colleen Shipman.
