The Fresh Prince Gets Dramatic

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the iconic TV show that made Will Smith a household name, is getting rebooted … as a drama. Yep, a drama, not a comedy. Peacock, a new streaming service created by NBC Universal, just ordered two seasons of the show titled Bel-Air, which demonstrates how confident they are in the show, and the team behind it. Speaking of the team, the series, which is based on filmmaker Morgan Cooper’s independent fan film, has a number of heavy hitters involved including Chris Collins, Will Smith, Quincy Jones, and Benny Medina, who was actually the inspiration for the original network TV series. Watch Will Smith break the good news to his partners and then scroll down to watch the trailer. And be sure to tell us what you think.
