Brian Tyree Henry and Sonequa Martin-Green star in Samuel Goldwyn Films’ latest release, The Outside Story, which is set for digital and VOD release this Friday, April 30. The film is written and Directed by Casimir Nozkowski, with Nozkowski producing alongside Frank Hall Green, Brian Newman, and Joseph Stephans. The logline of the film reads: While on a tight deadline, an introverted editor (Brian Tyree Henry) is locked out of his apartment. In order to find his way back inside, he’s forced to interact with…his neighbors. In addition to Henry and Martin-Green, The Outside Story, stars Sunita Mani (Glow, Mr. Robot) , Olivia Edward (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Better Things), Asia Kate Dillon (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Billions) and Rebecca Naomi Jones (Passing Strange The Movie, Ratter).
Henry is taking on his first big screen lead role as Charles Young, a broken-hearted video editor. Perceiving a betrayal of trust as a sign his girlfriend Isha (Sonequa Martin-Green) is leaving him, Charles preemptively blows up his relationship and sequesters himself at home. The fates do not comply and Charles locks himself out of his apartment. Stumbling into a transformational, timely odyssey exploring his community, Charles meets a dynamic ensemble of previously avoided neighbors who show him everyone’s got issues and it never helps to keep them all locked up.
Brian Tyree Henry is an American actor best known for his role on Donald Glover’s FX series, Atlanta, where he plays the character Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles. In the role, the actor has even received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. The actor has also been featured in several films including; 2018’s Widows, If Beale Street Could Talk, and the animated superhero film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Most recently, he starred in the thriller film Don’t Let Go and the horror film Child’s Play.
Sonequa Martin-Green is also an American actress who is best known for portraying the characters Michael Burnham in CBS All Access’ Star Trek: Discovery and Sasha William’s on AMC’s hit The Walking Dead. The actress has also starred in The Good Wife, Once Upon a Time and New Girl.
