April 11, 2011
Tom Wilkinson is set to join Samuel L. Jackson in the indie thriller ‘The Samaritan.’
Jackson stars as a former grifter who sets out to put his life of crime behind him after serving a 20-year prison sentence. Complications arise when the son of his former partner asks him for help with an ingenious plan. Wilkinson will play a crime boss who becomes ensnared in a grift with far-reaching consequences, stated Variety.
David Weaver will direct the film from a script he co-wrote with Elan Mastai, while Luke Kirby and Ruth Negga co-star.
‘Samaritan’ is currently filming in Toronto before production oes to Rio de Janiero in late April. The film will be released in early 2012, and producer Anonymous Content will assist the project with domestic distribution.
Wilkinson can currently be seen starring in the controversial mini ‘The Kennedys.’ The actor previously earned Oscar noms for his work in ‘Michael Clayton’ and ‘In the Bedroom.’
