Trailer To Dee Rees’ ‘The Last Thing He Wanted’ Starring Anne Hathaway

Netflix has released the trailer for “Mudbound” director Dee Rees’ “The Last Thing He Wanted,” starring Anne Hathaway and based on the Joan Didion political thriller.

Ben Affleck, Toby Jones, Rosie Perez, Edi Gathegi, and Mel Rodriguez co-star in the film which is premiering at the Sundance Film Festival ahead of a release on the service February 12th.

Marco Villalobos and Dee co-wrote the screenplay, which is “a thrilling story of one woman, alone and unrelenting in a race against time,” according to a statement.

Anne Hathaway plays veteran D.C. journalist Elena McMahon who sets out on a guilt-propelled errand for her father (Willem Dafoe).

She soon finds herself on dangerous ground as the Iran Contra Affair’s arms for drugs plot reaches its tipping point and she is thrust from byline to unwitting subject in the story she’s trying to break
