HBO has released the trailer for its highly-anticipated upcoming series, A Black Lady Sketch Show, which is set to premiere next month on HBO. The sketch comedy series will debut on Friday, AUG. 2 (11:00–11:30 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO.
Created and written by Robin Thede and executive produced by Issa Rae is the first sketch comedy program written by and starring black women.
A BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW is a narrative series set in a limitless magical reality full of dynamic, hilarious characters and celebrity guests. The show presents sketches performed by a core cast of black women, including Robin Thede, Ashley Nicole Black, Gabrielle Dennis and Quinta Brunson.
Lauren Ashley Smith, who was the head writer on The Rundown with Robin Thede, is the head writer and co-exec producer for the series.
