Transferred over from MTV, VH1 will premiere Scream: Resurrection, the third season of the limited series Scream, in two-hour blocks over three nights (July 8, 9 and 10 at 9/8c).
Season three, which was originally supposed to premiere in March 2018, has been completely reworked with a new cast, showrunner, and executive producing team.
Oscar nominee and Grammy winner Mary J. Blige (Mudbound) will be joining the all-new cast of the six-episode season.
Blige joins RJ Cyler (Black Lightning), Keke Palmer (Scream Queens), Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), C.J. Wallace (Notorious), rapper Tyga and Giullian Yao Gioiello (Iron Fist), Gloria Whigham (The Punisher), and Jessica Sula.
Blige is set to play Sherry Elliott, the mother of lead character Delon Elliot (RJ Cyler). The third season of Scream is set in Atlanta and centers on Delon, a star running back for his high school football team whose tragic past comes back to haunt him, threatening both his plans for the future and the lives of his friends.

Wes Craven (Scream movies director), Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Marianne Maddalena, and Cathy Konrad round out the executive producing team on top of Maggie Malina and Dana Gotlieb-Carter executive producing for MTV.
