NBC has released two clips from tonight’s This Is Us where Tony Award winner Phylicia Rashad will guest-star as the mother of Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson).
Carl Lumbly (Alias, Supergirl) will also appear as Beth’s father Abe and Rachel Naomi Hilson (Madam Secretary) and Akira Akbar( Grey’s Anatomy, Captain Marvel) will plays the younger versions of Beth.
All will appear in the Feb. 19 episode, titled “Our Little Island Girl,” which will delve into the backstory of Susan Kelechi Watson’s character, Beth.

The Dan Fogelman-created seres stars Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Chris Sullivan and Susan Kelechi Watson.
