Indieewire has posted the trailer to the sic-fi thriller ‘Beta Test,’ starring Larenz Tate, Linden Ashby, Yuji Okumoto and Manu Bennett. Written and directed by Nicholas Gyeney, the film will be released in select cities on July 22nd.
“Beta Test” follows Seattle-based video game champion Max Troy (Larenz Tate) who is about to test the latest release from global juggernaut Sentinel, but he quickly realizes that the game isn’t like any other: Whenever he completes a new task, real world events mirror them. Soon, Max discovers that Sentinel is at the center of a global conspiracy and realizes the game’s protagonist Orson Creed (Manu Bennett) is actually a real person. Max and Creed team up to uncover the conspiracy and stop the violence from overtaking their city.
This high-octane thriller will be debuting in a theater in the following cities: Seattle, Bellingham, Denver, Chicago, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Tampa, Baton Rouge, Houston, Phoenix, Long Beach, LA, San Francisco and Washington D.C.
