Coming out on Dec.9 is the latest film from director Jason Reitman, ‘Young Adult.’
Written by Diablo Cody, Academy Award winner Charlize Theron plays Mavis Gary, a writer of teen literature who returns to her small hometown to relive her glory days and attempt to reclaim her happily married high school sweetheart (Patrick Wilson). When returning home proves more difficult than she thought, Mavis forms an unusual bond with a former classmate (Patton Oswalt) who hasn’t quite gotten over high school, either.
Cody won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the film ‘Juno,’ which Reitman directed. She also created the TV series ‘United States of Tara.’
At a recent press conference held at the Ritz Carlton in New York, screenwriter Diablo Cody, Charlize Theron and Patton Oswalt sat down and spoke about their experiences working on the film.
Charlize talks about her “mean girl” memories.
