Zoe Soul (aka Zoe Borde) has joined the cast of The Next Chapter Of The Purge, a sequel to the 2013 box office hit that starred Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey.
In the follow-up, Soul joins a cast that includes Frank Grillo, Michael K. Williams, Carmen Ejogo, Zach Gilford, and Kiele Sanchez. The film centers on one night a year, during 12-hour period, where any and all crime is legalized.
Coming back is writer-director James DeMonaco, with Blumhouse’s Jason Blum producing alongside Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes and Sebastien Lemercier.
The first film, made for about $3 million, has earned $89.3 million worldwide to date.
Soul, who played Kaci Reynolds in BET’s Reed Between The Lines, was recently on the big screen in Denis Villeneuve‘s thriller film Prisoners, which starred Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, Melissa Leo, and Paul Dano.
The Next Chapter of The Purge is slated to hit theaters on June 20th, 2014.
