London Hughes Tapped for ‘The Netflix Afterparty’

British writer-comedian and TV personality, London Hughes, has been selected to co-host Netflix’s late night show – The Netflix Afterparty. She will be joined by comedy veteran David Spade (The Wrong Missy) and comedian Fortune Feimster (The Mindy Project) for the weekly comedy show. The series has received an 18 episode order from the streamer with Spade serving as executive producer on the series. Free 90 Media is the production company for the show.

The hosts will be joined by a new comedian each week to discuss Netflix’s hot new releases. Each show will focus on one Netflix movie or TV show; inviting a cast member from the project to interact with the panel for interviews, pop culture discussions, and sketches. The show is Netflix’s third attempt to break into the late night world. Their first being the comedian led Chelsea Does with Chelsea Handler followed by Patriot Act with Hassan Minhaj. The show will premier in 2021 with episodes dropping every Sunday night.

In 2019, Hughes was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for her show To Catch a Dick – the first black British woman to receive the nod in almost four decades. She can be seen on the UK’s Extreme Hair Wars on Channel 5, Mock the Week on the BBC, and Fleabag on Amazon Prime Video.
