Billy Rosewood and Axel Foley will get together again. Judge Reinhold, who played by-the-book law-enforcement officer William “Billy” Rosewood in the “Beverly Hills Cop” movie series, has signed on for a cameo in CBS’s “Beverly Hills Cop” pilot.

Eddie Murphy, who’s serving as a producer, will also appear in the pilot, reprising his Axel Foley role. Further details on Reinhold’s role in the pilot or how he will fit into the plot were not available.

The “Beverly Hills Cop” pilot, which comes from “The Shield” creator Shawn Ryan, is a continuation continuation of the 29-year-old franchise centered around Foley’s police officer son, who takes down the criminal elements of the rich and famous in Beverly Hills.

Brandon T. Jackson plays Foley’s son Aaron.

Sony Television is producing the pilot, which will also star Kevin Pollak, Christine Lahti, The Office‘s David Denman and Sheila Vand. Pollack wil play Rodney Daloof, the in-house lawyer for the Beverly Hills Police Department. He’s described as incredibly risk-averse, a stickler for the rules and a loud-mouthed bully. Lahti will play the BHPD’s police captain, while Vand will play Leila, a Beverly Hills detective who gave up a life of privilege for one of independence. She’s sharp and frustrated when newcomer Aaron insists on keeping secrets while not playing by the rules.
