Fox has released the trailer for Batman-inspired “Gotham” hours after it was announced that the series is set for a full season order.
Based upon characters published by DC Comics, “Gotham” is a drama exploring the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon and the villains that made Gotham famous. “Gotham” follows cop James Gordon’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time.
Series regulars cast to date are Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock, Jada Pinkett Smith as crime boss Fish Mooney, Zabryna Guevara as Captain Essen, Erin Richards as Gordon’s fiancée Barbara Kean, Sean Pertwee as Wayne family servant Alfred Pennyworth, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman), and Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot (aka The Penguin), and Cory Michael Smith guest-starring as Edward Nygma (aka The Riddler).
Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”) wrote the pilot script and will serve as executive producer on the series. Danny Cannon (“CSI,” “Nikita”) will direct and executive produce the pilot which is expected to air this fall.
