Alicia Keys is set to produce a currently untitled project for Netflix that will star singer and actress Christina Milian, Jay Pharoah and Sinqua Walls.
The script, as reported by Deadline, was co-written by Dana Schmalenberg and Rheeqrheeq Chainey. The story will focus on an aspiring pop star named Erica who takes on a singing gig at a luxurious island resort and ends up as the entertainment at her ex-fiance’s wedding. Erica attempts to keep their past relationship a secret from the bride to be but also struggles with her feelings for her ex.
Keys will produce the film via her AK Worldwide label along with Maggie Malina for The Malina Yarn Company and Jeremy Kipp Walker for Story Ink.
