Popular law drama LA Law has a revamp currently in development at ABC and is set to star Blair Underwood. Marc Guggenheim will be writing and executive producing the reprise along with Ubah Mohamed. Anthony Hemmingway is serving as director and executive producing alongside Underwood for the series.
In the reboot, Underwood will be revisiting his role as Jonathan Rollins, a high powered attorney working for the McKenzie, Brackman, Chaney and Kuzak law firm. The firm has undergone some changes, however, now specializing in “only the most high-profile, boundary-pushing and incendiary cases.” according to a Deadline article. Rollins, now a vet in the game has become more conservative and constantly bumps heads with rookie attorney JJ Freeman and other millennials working at the firm. It is said that some original cast members will make appearances if the project goes to series, but will mostly focus on the new generation of lawyers. LA Law originally aired in 1986 going on to run for eight seasons and win 15 Emmys.
Blair Underwood can be currently seen on a number of Netflix projects like Dear White People, Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam CJ Walker, and Ava DuVernay’s When They See Us. The actor can also be caught in Bad Hair on Hulu and Your Honor on Showtime.
