Debbie Tucker Green’s feature debut ‘Second Coming,’ starring Nadine Marshall, Idris Elba, Kai Francis-Lewis and Sharlene Whyte, will have its world premiere at the 2014 Toronto Film Festival.

Jackie is pregnant and knows it’s not her husband Mark’s. She says she’s slept with nobody else. Mark and their son JJ don’t know what to say. Second Coming follows this family over a year as they navigate their way through the aftermath of an unexplained pregnancy.

Tucker Green is an award-winning playwright who’s also written for British television. Dirty Butterfly, her debut play, was produced by Soho Theatre, and her next work, Born Bad at the Hampstead, won the 2004 Laurence Olivier award. Among those in the same category she beat out and won were Ruth Negga and Tom Hardy.

Secong Coming 3Marshall had starred in Tucker Green’s 2011 TV film, Random, the story of 24 hours in the life of a Black British woman on the day her younger brother is killed in a random act of violence.

Producers are Hillbilly Films’ Kate Norrish and Polly Leys. Second Coming was developed and co-financed by Film4 and the BFI Film Fund and supported by the Sundance Institute Feature Film Program.
